Aaron Ansell
Professor
- School of Public and International Affairs
Aaron Ansell is a cultural anthropologist with an interest in political communication and regional expertise in rural Brazil. His scholarship addresses issues of development and anti-poverty policy, patronage, and political corruption. He uses ethnographic methods to analyze the communicative venues where ordinary people make sense of government policies in light of local concerns about family integrity, fertility, and security. More recently, Dr. Ansell's work has explored the intersection of political polarization and academic freedom in the US as part of his longstanding interest in liberal democratic communication.
