High Table 2026

February 19-21, 2026 | The Inn at Virginia Tech, 901 Prices Fork Rd., Blacksburg, VA 24061

High Table 2026 is designed as an engaging scholarly forum that brings together the Center for Public Administration (CPAP) faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends for an elevated conversation on the current state of the Public Administration field. The event’s learning goals center on deepening participants’ understanding of contemporary issues in Public Administration, encouraging the exchange of diverse perspectives, and showcasing current research being conducted by CPAP PhD students. Attendees will also gain valuable insights from distinguished keynote speaker Dr. James Perry, whose work continues to shape discourse and practice in the profession.

The tone of High Table 2026 is business scholar—professional, reflective, and intellectually lively. Participants can expect thoughtful debate, idea-sharing, and opportunities to connect scholarship with practice. Business casual dress helps create a polished yet comfortable environment conducive to open dialogue and engagement.

Friday’s agenda will include interactive discussion segments, dedicated time for PhD students to present their research, and a Madeira Hour for a more relaxed atmosphere of scholarly discussion with alcoholic beverages provided. Saturday's agenda will feature the High Table Luncheon accompanied by Dr. Perry’s keynote address. Together, these elements create a rich learning experience that highlights the breadth and depth of Public Administration scholarship while strengthening the CPAP community’s shared commitment to advancing the field.
