Giselle Datz is Associate Professor and Chair of Government and International Affairs at Virginia Tech, based at the Washington metro area campus in Arlington. Her research on global political economy focuses on sovereign debt restructurings, financial regulation/central banks, financial infrastructures, and financial development particularly in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Chile. She holds a B.A. in Economics from PUC-Rio, a M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Global Affairs from Rutgers University.
She is the author of journal articles published in the Review of International Political Economy, New Political Economy, Competition & Change, Government & Opposition, Latin American Politics and Society, among others.
Datz teaches graduate courses on Global Political Economy and Politics of Developing Areas, as well as undergraduate courses on International Relations and Global Trade.
