Hometown: Warrenton, Virginia, USA; I have lived in NY, VA, TX, LA, MD, and Iraq and Djibouti (if you count 1-year deployments to those last two locations)

Education: US Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, US Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS, 2018; B.S. (Architecture), University of Virginia, Charlottesville VA, 1989

Personal: Married to Kira Fiutak since 1992; have two daughters and a son-in-law, Kaela, Brenna and Austin; have three dogs

Professional: Have worked in the architectural profession since 1994 and have been a licensed architect since 2008; have held positions in large and medium size architecture firms in the private sector and worked on policy and design guidelines as a federal employee; currently licensed in NY, VA, WV, MD, FL, and TX; have worked on a variety project types throughout the world but primarily in the US and within the healthcare market; currently hold position of Senior Healthcare Architect with Awen Solutions Group.

Military: Originally commissioned a second lieutenant in the US Army in 1989; spent eight years on active duty; spent the balance of 22 years in US Army Reserve units as a civil affairs officer; have two combat deployments to Iraq and East Africa; currently a lieutenant colonel and command the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion, Webster, NY.

Hobbies: pretty much anything with the family; riding my sport bike motorcycle on racetracks

Research/professional interests: Whole community design. In January 2022, I formed my own architecture firm, Find Architecture PLLC. I formed Find to create a mechanism that will allow me to do other things if they sound fun, with great people, and would make the world a better place.
