Nareg is an alumnus of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road (New Delhi, India), Yerevan State University (Yerevan, Armenia), St. John's College (Santa Fe, New Mexico), the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (Medford, Massachusetts), and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (Vienna, Austria); served on the faculty of the American University of Armenia (2013-2016).
